PRESS RELEASE

North Weald Airfield Community Day

(7 June 2011)

On Sunday 5th June WZ507 took part in the North Weald Airfield Community Day and made three flights during the event. The first was an impromptu session to allow air to air photography of the Royal Navy Historic Flight’s Sea Fury T.20, based at RNAS Yeovilton and flown by Lt Cdr Chris Götke RN.

The weather was far from perfect but the Vampire and Sea Fury, in formation with a Jet Provost, made an impressive sight as they passed over the airfield.

Later that day we also had the privilege to take Nigel Rose, a former RAF pilot who flew Spitfires during the Battle of Britain, for a flight in WZ507.

Judging by his reaction, he enjoyed the experience!

Our thanks to Glenn Allison, Matt French and Darren Harbar for the above pictures.
