Test Flight Completed!
(27th March 2015)
After a lengthy delay over the winter, whilst waiting for suitable weather and pilot availability, we are pleased to confirm that WZ507 has finally completed her test flight. This is required under CAA regulations every three years and was also the Vampire's first flight in approximately nine months, due to the aircraft being grounded as our engineers worked to resolve the issues highlighted in our last update.
The test flight went perfectly, with WZ507 behaving impeccably. All systems were tested, the engine parameters were examined, the aircraft performance was confirmed to be as expected and the handling envelope was thoroughly explored! Our intention is to now complete a further series of flights as we prepare for the air show season, in order to get both pilots and aircraft ready for public display.
If you would like to help us with our efforts in keeping WZ507 airworthy, please consider joining our supporter's club. Every penny raised goes directly towards the aircraft and membership starts from just £1 per month, making it affordable for almost everybody. Please help if you can - WZ507 is the last airworthy Vampire T11 in the world and we would love to keep her flying!
